Yes. All of our garden gates are universal handing and can be installed to open either left or right, depending on your installation requirements.
The handle, latch and lock keep receiver can be configured during installation.
Every garden gate is supplied complete with:
- 2 x Adjustable Wall Mounted Hinges
- 1 x Floor Mounted Hinge
- 1 x Lockable Handle Set
- 1 x Full Length Lock Keep Receiver
- 3 x Keys
All required operating hardware is included within the gate price.
No. The gate can be installed between existing walls, brickwork or existing posts.
If suitable fixing points are not available, aluminium gate posts can be purchased separately.
Yes. Selected garden gates can be supplied with a custom width service.
Choose the Custom Width option on the product page and enter your required finished width in millimetres.
Custom-width gates are made to order and cannot be returned.
Yes. In addition to our standard colours, custom RAL colours are available.
Select the Custom RAL Colour option on the product page and enter your required RAL name and code.
Yes. Every garden gate includes a lockable handle set and three keys as standard.
Very little. Unlike timber gates, aluminium gates will not rust, rot or warp and do not require painting, staining or preservative treatments.
We recommend occasional cleaning using warm soapy water.
Yes. Many customers install their own gates using the supplied hardware and installation guides.
Installation guides can be found within the How To Install tab on this page. For larger gates, we recommend two people for lifting and positioning.
No. Residential Gates is a supply-only company.
Most customers use a local builder, landscaper, handyman or gate installer to carry out the installation.

I was unsure of what size I needed so phoned customer support & they were so helpful, I ordered my new gate over the phone, it wasn’t a standard size so I thought I may have to wait some time but within two weeks I had a call to say my gate was ready & I was given a date & time, on the day a further call to say he would be delivering in the next half hour. What a professional team, somewhat good to talk to people & receive fantastic customer service. Fixing the gate was also so easy & the online video is extremely helpful.

Ordering and Delivery were super easy. Fixing was ok but with one slight issue.
The fixings for the hinges were a little troublesome. The nut on the fixing de-attached inside the hole and was impossible to remove. Had to find a new raw bolt to replace it, otherwise was ok. Overall very good.

Custom width, black finish and self-installed VertiScape gates produced a great result. Instructions are clear just needed some advice about reducing the height of the posts to fit space (hint: chop off the bottom of the post with the feet, not the top with the bespoke cap fittings). Very pleased with the outcome.

Took a while researching the right rear entrance gate/doorsfor the rear of my property, but finally focused on the gates from Residential Gates. There are a large number of companies offering similar products and you definitely need to put the research in.
The outcome for me was a custom made to size option from Residential Gates and I feel they were the most competitive and with good communication and help on all of the options. Ordering was easy and timeframes for delivery of custom size was good and on time. Comments from neighbours ‘“love your gate” “ gate looks fantastic” Very good quality for the price with Residential Gates offering occasional discounts which is great. Overall very happy with my purchase, I had to contact the supplying company regarding a small question on handle, the after sales was excellent along with the delivery communication. Excellent gate system , high quality construction and good finish to both gates and posts . Easy installation if gate is between 2 brick pillars with open top acces as bearing in mind all the components and trims slide in from the top of the posts . Mine was entrance with header course and makes the whole process slightly complicated however I managed and it looks superb. Had i of realised i would have installed gate first then finished brickwork after .Great adjustment on hinges to even up gaps and make the door sit square. Good lock with 3 keys. The striker plate could do with an extended tongue as the one supplied does not protect the post if the door shuts with wind etc , other than that small issue it's an excellent system which justifies the cost. Support from company was excellent and I would recommend.
